The H2 chip has stronger processing and is more energy efficient than the already formidable H1 chip found in the first generation AirPods Pro. These earbuds offer more powerful noise cancellation their clearest, most linear sound yet. Apple also revamped the drivers and dedicated amplifiers to help lower distortion and serve up more detail.
Ear tips for a stable fit
Unlike the "traditional" AirPods, Apple includes four sizes of ear tips here. I've tested a lot of in-ear headphones and I can't stress how much a proper fit can improve sound — and noise cancellation. These flexible, silicone tips will conform to the shape of your ear to create a comfortable, secure fit.
Smart, real-time noise canceling technology
These earbuds use an array of built-in mics to capture external sounds, then adjust the level of noise cancellation. Newer algorithms and the H2 chip's faster processing reduce latency a miniscule amount. So, noise is basically cancelled out as it happens.
The MagSafe charging case can recharge on a wireless Apple Watch charger like the Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE PRO 3-in-1 (sold separately).
Cleaner transition to Transparency mode
When you need to be aware of your surroundings, simply press and hold either AirPod stem to activate "Transparency" mode. The built-in mics let in external sounds, so you can hear your surroundings. This time around, Apple's internal circuitry helps smooth out harsh and louder noises — like sirens and large engines — so they don't sound as overwhelming when you switch over.
Steady, high-quality connection to your Apple gear
While the AirPods will play music wirelessly from any Bluetooth-enabled phone or music source, the H2 chip makes pairing up with Apple devices even more special. A one-tap connection syncs up the earbuds to your iPhone®, and then you're automatically paired to other devices on your iCloud® account (like your Apple Watch®, iMac®, or iPad®).
3D sound for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV
These headphones also use head-tracking technology to serve up "spatial audio" for certain shows, movies, and music. It's designed to emulate the sound of a Dolby Atmos home theater speaker setup in a room. And as you nod or turn your head, the sound field stays fixed and centered.
To make things even more immersive, Apple can tailor the spatial audio experience to your ears. The sound adjusts itself based on the shape and geometry of your ears and head. If you have an iPhone with a TrueDepth camera, you can snap a photo of the side of your head to create your personal profile.
That profile will sync up and follow you to your iPad, iPhone, and Apple TV 4K. It's great for shows and movies, plus it adds an extra dimension to your tunes when listening to spatial audio music tracks on Apple Music. That streaming service has thousands of songs mixed in Dolby Atmos, and the Atmos version plays automatically when you're wearing AirPods.

Clear phone calls and FaceTime conversations
AirPods have become an everyday essential for some, often as much for phone calls or FaceTime as music listening. They make it so easy to hop on conference calls, order food, or talk when you're out and about. Apple added an inward-facing microphone that can better filter out external sounds for clear calls and FaceTime conversations in noisier environments.
A carrying case that's compatible with wireless Apple Watch charging systems
These AirPods offer six hours of music listening with noise cancellation on a full charge. When you need to refuel, just click the AirPods into their included wireless charging case. It can bank 24 hours of power to recharge your AirPods.
The MagSafe charging case can be placed on a compatible Qi charger (not included) to refresh the charge wirelessly. An audible beep tells you it's working. It also has a built-in tracking chip that works with the "Find My" feature on iPhone. The case even has a built-in speaker that can play an audible tone to help you locate it.

Overview: The Apple AirPods Pro 2 are individual left and right in-ear buds designed to provide advanced features when used with your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Mac. They also work via Bluetooth (version 5.3) with Android phones and tablets, and most other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Each AirPods Pro 2 measures 0.86" (w) x 1.22" (h) x 0.94" (d), and weighs 0.19 ounces. AirPods power on and connect automatically with your device when you open the lid of the included charging case. AirPods use internal sensors and motion accelerometers to detect when they're in your ears, or when you touch the stem to control playback, answer a call, or activate Siri. They offer Active Noise Cancellation for those times when you want to block out ambient noise, and Adaptive Transparency Mode when you don't. The AirPods Pro 2 come with an Apple Lightning-to-USB-C cable, four pairs of silicone ear tips, and a MagSafe Wireless Charging Case.

Ear Tips: The AirPods Pro 2 now come with four sizes of soft, flexible silicone ear tips: large, medium, small, and a new extra-small size. The tapered ear tips help keep your AirPods in place by conforming to the size and shape of your ear canal. The ear tips create a seal to enhance the effect of Active Noise Cancellation. Vents in the ear tips help equalize the air pressure for ultimate comfort.
MagSafe Charging Case: The included MagSafe Charging Case stores and charges the AirPods Pro 2 each time they are inserted. The case is compatible with Qi Wireless Charging, and with MagSafe-enabled chargers. Charging is as simple as placing the AirPods in the case, and placing the case face up on a MagSafe or Qi-compatible charging device. The LED indicator on the front of the case lets you know the AirPods are charging. Another feature of the MagSafe Charging Case is the presence of a speaker. Apple H2 Headphone Chip: The new H2 headphone chip is the successor to the H1, and brings new features and better performance to the AirPods Pro 2. With the new chip, the Pro 2s feature enhanced noise cancellation with a new adaptive transparency mode. The Personalized Spatial Audio feature works with the TrueDepth camera on your iPhone to create a custom profile just for you. The new H2 chip and an improved battery increases battery life by 50%: 6 hours listening time per charge, compared to 4.5 for the original AirPod Pro.
Precision Finding: The MagSafe Charging Case includes the Apple U1 Ultra Wideband chip, which uses Precision Finding technology to locate your AirPods Pro 2s if they are misplaced or lost. Apple's Find My technology uses Bluetooth signals from lost AirPods to relay their location back to you. Precision Finding is the same technology used with Apple's AirTags to help you locate lost keys, purse, briefcase, or luggage. With a compatible iPhone (11 and newer) or Apple Watch (Series 6 and up), you can use the ultra-broadband radio signals to precisely pinpoint the direction and distance to your misplaced AirPod Pro 2s.
Onboard Controls: The AirPods Pro 2 features a higher level of touch control compared to previous models. The new Touch Control pad on the stem lets you easily manage playback functions. Swiping up or down on the pad adjusts the volume. Music and phone controls are performed with single, double, or triple presses: 1x for play/pause or answer a call, 2x to skip forward, and 3x to skip backward. Press and hold lets you toggle between Active Noise Cancellation and Adaptive Transparency. To activate Siri voice assistant, simply say "Hey, Siri!" to request a song, make a phone call, or get directions.
Active Noise Cancellation: Apple AirPods Pro 2 feature improved Active Noise Cancellation to block out ambient noise, so you can concentrate on what you're listening to. The noise-cancelling microphones and the rear vent on each AirPod detect ambient sounds before it reaches your ear, while improved acoustic algorithms help to reduce twice as much noise, compared to first generation AirPods Pro.
Adaptive Transparency: When you want to be more aware of your surroundings, you can engage the new Adaptive Transparency mode. With the new H2 chip, loud noises are reduced without minimizing other ambient sounds, so you can more clearly hear what's going on around you. You can toggle between Active Noise Cancellation and Adaptive Transparency by pressing and holding the touch pad on the AirPods stem.
Personalized Spatial Audio: When used with a compatible Apple device, you can enjoy Personalized Spatial Audio, which immerses you into your music. iPhones and iPads with a TrueDepth front-facing camera can help create a personal profile for Spatial Audio that is tuned only for you. Personalized Spatial Audio features Dynamic Head Tracking that puts you in the center of your listening experience like no other. To set up a Personalized Spatial Audio profile, you must have an iPhone X or newer (with iOS 16 or later) or 3rd Generation iPad Pro (2018) or newer. The procedure involves using the front-facing camera to capture straight on, left, and right images of your face. Algorithms in the H2 chip create an audio profile designed specifically for you based on the shape of your face and ears.

Sound Quality: The AirPods Pro 2 let you enjoy exceptional sound quality with a super-efficient, high dynamic range amplifier with Adaptive EQ. Power Requirements: Each individual Apple AirPod Pro 2 has a built-in rechargeable battery.
