Sound quality: We found the Goal delivers sound quality that falls in the good range - it reproduces music and voice reasonably well despite the obvious shortcomings in its sound. bass (as in bass drums, bass guitars, stand-up bass, etc.) has decent impact and the upper bass is fairly detailed, but the mid and lower bass is subdued and deep bass is lacking. The midrange (voices, guitars, horns, etc.) is thin, grainy, sibilant, and somewhat edgy (more sharply outlined then it should be). The treble (cymbals, the upper range of violins, etc.) is fairly extended but a bit prominent and smeared. The sound also has a good sense of liveliness and is open--sound-wise it seems like you don't have anything plugging up your ears and it does a decent job of recovering room ambience in the upper midrange and lower treble, but otherwise room ambience recovery is lacking. Cool character. The overall sound can best be summarized as thin, grainy, and somewhat edgy.
Comfort: We found that these earphones do not produce pressure in the ear canal. Users with small ear bowls might find that although the earphones feel like they stick out too far and like they may lever out of place, they actually fit securely and stay in place even during fairly vigorous head movements. Users with medium and large earbowls will probably find that they stay in place with no problem, and that the ear bowl supports make the ear pieces very stable even with vigorous head movement. Incidental contact with the touch controls can cause unintentional playing or pausing.
