Robert James Briggs (April 28, 1945 – May 5, 1997 [1]) was an American football defensive lineman who played in the American Football League and the National Football League. He played seven seasons for the San Diego Chargers, Cleveland Browns, and Kansas City Chiefs. [2]
A native San Franciscan, Bob St. Clair attended San Francisco Polytechnic High School (located across the street from Kezar Stadium) and the University of San Francisco, and was part of USF's undefeated 1951 team. Since USF did not return to field a football team for the 1952 season, St. Clair finished his college career at the University of Tulsa.
After the 1966–1967 NFL football season, the Minnesota Vikings traded Fran Tarkenton for four draft picks in the 1967 NFL draft. The Vikings used one of the four, a second round draft pick, to acquire Grim. He played with them for five seasons, helping them to the 1969 NFL championship and a Super Bowl IV appearance.
Under Bob Green, Montana Tech had its most successful period in football. During Green's 24-year tenure, the Orediggers compiled a record of 130 wins and 112 losses.
