In the "target" box, add -scOfflineOnly to the end. It should look like: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockstar Games\PlayGTAV.exe" -scOfflineOnly.
TheHeavySoldier. OP • 4 yr. ago. Okay, a work around is apparently to close the rockstar and epic launcher. Then go to the folder where the GTA V Rockstar launcher version is installed and click GTAVLauncher. It will then launch the Rockstar Launcher and after logging in it'll launch the game immediately.. I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous.

Does that have to do with me using Parallels Desktop or Mac? Before Parallels I tried on CrossOver and it worked ok-ish, but I did remove CrossOver in favor of Parallels. I tried reinstalling CrossOver on my Mac but Rockstar Launcher cannot even launch this time around. So I'm just stuck here. I have already approached Rockstar's customer service.
Go back to your compatdata folder, and there should be a new 'Red Dead Redemption 2' folder alongside the 'Launcher' folder we found earlier. Within this folder find RDR2.exe. Go back to the steam shortcut we have been using. We will again CHANGE the Steam shortcut for the final time, this time to the game executable RDR2.exe.
That doesn't seem to only apply to Windows 7/8 though. Bruh they added the Rockstar Games Launcher post-launch to a lot of their games, and now they're removing support for older operating systems. It's like Rockstar wants to make their games difficult to play. Pirate versions still work though ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯.
