    Whether you want to use Windows Defender or want to install another AV depends on your own preferences and habits. Personally, I prefer a third party product.     I recently purchased a dell laptop (windows 10 )with a free trial of McAfee. I do not wish to use McAfee so I uninstalled the program via add/remove programs. I noted some McAfee files remained on my PC, therefore I also ran MCPR tool. The files are still there. if I search for McAfee on my laptop I am still finding files.

    Open Edge, then click the 3 dots at the top right and select Settings. Type notifications in the search box in Edge Settings. On the right scroll down and you will find the Notification settings, if there is websites listed in there, delete them. Then check if that notification comes back.

    Try going into the Windows 11 - Apps and Features (start typing that in the Search box on the Taskbar) and look for an app named 'PC App Store' and uninstall it. Be careful when uninstalling that you answer any questions carefully, since some of these uninstalls try to get you to install something else in the process.
